traditional folk-music ensemble, now resident in New
York, featuring Nikolay Kolev (gadulka), Donka Koleva (voice),
and their daughters. The Kolevi performed for us in May
2000. The Kolevi are beginning a big North American tour
with this appearance in West Hartford. Donation $10.

Art, and Dance (Newtown, CT).
- October 27, 2002:
Live-music dance party. Music by the Bisserov Sisters from Bulgaria. The Bisserov Sisters are among the
most popular and renowned performers of traditional music
in Bulgaria. They have been performing together for over
24 years, promoting Bulgarian folk music and dance. Their
extensive repertoire ranges from very old traditional a
cappella harmonies to contemporary folk pieces written by
Bulgarias leading composers. They have performed in
many countries around the world, and have made many tapes
& CDs, preserving hundreds of songs for future
generations. The Sisters will be joined by some of
Bulgarias finest musicians, playing tupan, kaval,
gaida, gadulka, & tambura. Donation $10.
