Hijaz, based in
Connecticut, is a band without borders, playing and
singing folk dance music from a variety of cultures with
an emphasis on Balkan traditions. The music features
driving rhythms and haunting modal melodies, sure to
raise your spirits and get your toes tapping. Hijaz performs for weddings, birthdays, anniversaries, and international folk dance parties. For libraries, senior residences, and schools, we can present a one-hour musical tour of the Balkans, with a PowerPoint slide show of photos from Greece, Macedonia, Serbia, Romania, Bulgaria, and Turkey. |
